Visa Classic debit card enables you to pay for various goods and services (groceries, clothes, accommodation,...) at all points of sale bearing the Visa Classic debit sign, in the country and abroad.

When using the Visa Classic debit card of OTP banka, you do not have to worry about the opening time of branches , as you can access your money 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at all ATMs bearing the Visa sign. When withdrawing cash at ATM with Visa Classic debit card, the transaction must be authenticated with the PIN, which is - in addition to the card itself - the most important element of protection of the funds held in the account.

 

Security

Since you can use Visa Classic debit card for paying for all kinds of goods and services, there is no need for carrying larger cash amounts, so chances of losing it automatically decrease.  The full potential of this card is especially evident on journeys, as it liberates the holder from carrying various currencies, thus reducing the risk of a loss and providing additional security.

 

Cost control and records

Each Visa Classic debit card transaction is subject to authorisation, which means that before each debit, the cardholder's account balance is checked in order to make sure that the transaction can be processed / authorised. When paying for goods and services, or making withdrawal at an ATM with your Visa Classic debit card, you are issued a receipt.

 

Card usage

Visa Classic debit card can be used at all ATMs and EFT/POS terminals bearing the Visa sign, in the country and abroad alike.  Visa Classic debit card can be used to pay at all points of sale bearing the Visa sign: in shops, agencies, restaurants and hotels, whether in the country or abroad, and paying is as easy as swiping the card through the reader or reading the integrated chip. In just a few moments whilst the authorisation takes place, your transaction is carried out and you verify it with your signature.

Cash withdrawals at the ATMs bearing the Visa sign are equally simple:

  • insert the card,
  • type in your PIN,
  • follow the instructions,
  • choose the desired transaction,
  • once the authorisation is completed, the machine will pay out the money and you will get the receipt.

With your Visa Classic debit card you can withdraw cash at all times at ATMs of OTP banka. Apart from numerous ATMs, OTP banka also boasts of a large EFT/POS terminal network nationwide.

 

According to EU Regulation 518/2019, the cardholders have insight into the calculation of the amount to be debited in the card currency in case of the transactions they made at cross-border retailers (including ATMs and cash dispensing machines) from the European Economic Area (EEA) and in foreign currencies from EEA, the authorisation for which is received by the Bank, and can compare it against the exchange rate of the European Central Bank (ECB). The exchange rate value date applicable upon posting will be the transaction date, that is, the date the bank records the financial transaction.

 

No ATM to be found just when you need cash?

Now you can access the cash in your current account at all Tisak's points of sale. If you hold an OTP banka debit card, this transaction will cost you only HRK 5! Similar to withdrawals at ATMs, when withdrawing cash at Tisak’s points of sale, you can opt for one of the pre-determined amounts, and you can check what they are before you decide to proceed with the transaction.

 

Card and cash withdrawal limits

The daily card spending limit is capped at EUR 2.000 of which EUR 1.100 can be withdrawn at ATMs.

 

How to become a cardholder

All holders of current accounts at OTP banka who have been authorised to use Visa Classic debit cards at ATMs and EFT/POS terminals, are eligible cardholders. In addition, any signatory to an account, authorised by the holder of a current account, is eligible cardholder.
