Children's current account

Children's current account is a demand deposit account intended for children under 18. It is made out to the child’s name, and can be opened by parents or legal representatives/custodians, or even the minor himself/herself under the condition that he/she has business capacity.

Disposing of funds on the account

By opening such account as a legal representative/custodian, will get a Visa Claasic debit card or Mastercard debit card with PIN, and your child will get a children’s card. Withdrawals cannot be made with children’s card, but it can only be used to check the balance at ATMs. Parents/legal representatives/custodians/co-signatories of the account can also use their card to check the balance at ATMs, whilst deposits/withdrawals can be made in branches.

If you opt for a foreign currency account for your child, then you can make deposits and withdrawals solely in branches!

For children under 15 years of age cards are issued free of charge!

Payments to account

Apart from yourself (as a legal representative/ custodian) and the minor holding an ID card, payments to the children’s account can be made by grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts or others.  

Important information: in case of a withdrawal in excess of HRK 10 thousand per month (1.327,23 EUR), a written consent of both parents is required, as well as approval of the court in an non-contentious procedure (in accordance with the Family Act). 

How can you open a children's account?

Dear parents, if your child is under 18 and you wish to open an account for him/her, you just need your ID card and the child’s birth certificate. We do not charge account management fee on accounts held by children under 15.
